2025 Jamboree Parade Application

Application Requirements:

  1. ONLINE APPLICATION FORM (all entries)

  2. CERTIFICATE OF INSURANCE (motorized entries) Must be emailed to: Heightsparade@gmail.com

  3. PAYMENT for (Business/Political) Mailed in or dropped off

  • Certificate of insurance (for all motorized entries), and payment (business/political units) must be received by June 2nd. 

  • Parade fee is non-refundable. If unable to attend, we can roll over the fee for the follow year (this can only be done once). 

  • Line up details will be emailed to you that Monday the week of the parade. 

  • Units requesting payments for their participation are subject to review by the Columbia Heights Lions Club Parade Committee.  (There is a limited budget for marching band units).

  • Parade is held weather permitting (rarely but some years parades have been cancelled because of rain).

  • City officials will not be allowed to promote their position or candidacy unless it is an election year and they register as a political unit. They can only promote on their vehicle that is registered and can not use city vehicles to campaign. 

  • Requests for specific parade position will not be honored and are pre-determined by the Lions Parade Committee to provide a variety to spectators throughout the parade

  • Entrants whether elected or otherwise cannot participate in multiple entries, even if the entry fee has been paid for by another organization.

Jamboree Parade Rules

  • Must be at staging area no later than 5:30pm. Parade starts at 6:00pm.

  • Parade is held rain or shine.

  • Alcoholic beverages in the assembly area or by participants in the parade are prohibited. Violators may be cited by the Columbia Heights Police Department.

  • Political Entries are limited to 15 walkers and 1 vehicle. Parties must stay with vehicle so the parade isn’t being held up. 

  • Campaign signs can only be on the vehicle that is register in the Jamboree Parade. Not placed on other vehicles. 

  • Animal units must provide their own clean up.

Maps of Parade Staging Area and Route

Parade route goes northbound on 45th Ave Ne and Quincy Street NE. Units will either come in from Central Ave NE or University Ave NE to 44th Ave NE. Once coming in off 44th Ave NE please face southbound on the street that you will be given. Thank you

No fee (Non-Profits, Royalty, 501C, Columbia Heights Public School District)
Fee paid to (Band, Entertainment) Make sure to provide who to make check payable to and the address where to mail check after parade. (There is a limited budget for marching band units).

Liability Waiver Agreement

I, as representative of the undersigned unit/organization, have agreed for our benefit to participate in the Columbia Heights Lions Jamboree Parade.


I/we understand that inherent in our participation is the risk of serious personal injury and property damage. I/we understand that the City of Columbia Heights, the Jamboree Parade, and the Columbia Heights Lions will not provide us with protection against such injury and damage, and I/we assume all risk of such injury and damage to myself and all others under my direction and control, and to my property and all other property under my directions and control.


I/we hereby waive and release any claim we have and may have in the future against the City of Columbia Heights, the Jamboree Parade, the Columbia Heights Lions and/or employees or volunteers, for any personal injury, property damage, or other damage that I/we may sustain, whether or not caused in whole or in part by the negligence of such members which occurs during, or as a result of, our participation in the Jamboree Parade.


Furthermore, I represent that myself, or anyone operating a vehicle in the Jamboree Parade or in conjunction with the event, has a valid driver’s license to drive such vehicle and has appropriate vehicle insurance.
